WHO WE ARE

The Comics Advocacy Group is an organization dedicated to making careers in comics more accessible and sustainable. As a 501(c)3 nonprofit, we aim to address systemic barriers in the comics industry by providing access to educational resources, networking opportunities, and financial support, as well as advocating for fair wages and working practices.

Making comics accessible.

We were founded in 2022 by a group of comics professionals with a wide variety of industry and independent experience. We plan to use our collective knowledge to lay the groundwork for a long-term, sustained effort towards making comics careers viable for more creators.

Supporting Each Other

The Comics Advocacy Group is registered as a 501(c)3, so your donations are tax-deductible! Financial contributions like yours will allow us to:

  • Provide grants to comics creators and editors which will allow them to further their education, work on independent projects, travel to conventions, and more.
  • Produce a robust resource hub for the comics community featuring contributions from a wide array of professionals.
  • Establish a long term compensation survey for comics professionals which is inclusive of both the direct market and the book market.

Mini Grant Recipients Announced

The Comics Advocacy Group is delighted to announce that, after receiving over seven hundred amazing applications, we have selected the thirty recipients of our first-ever CAG Mini Grant!

We are looking forward to continuing this program and expanding our grant offerings even further in the years to come. Thank you to everyone who contributed funds and helped spread the word.
